Shortlisted Penguin Design Award 2013

Menacing jaws on the front cover highlight the dangerous side to this well-known book, expressing the presence of the stoats and weasels. When the sleeve is removed, the more serene-looking Wild Wood, although still scary due to the creatures lurking within, is revealed. Vulnerable Mole, his sense of adventure and curiosity overcoming him, is seen wandering on his own between the tall trees. The colour palette and illustrations are vibrant and engaging for young children, encouraging them to pull the book from its shelf and read this timeless story.

Self-initiated Mini Vino

The United Kingdom is in the midst of a binge drinking culture. Mini Vino aims to fight this by providing children with this beverage. Rather than alcohol being something to be drunk in large quantities behind adult’s backs, youngsters can remember drinking Mini Vino with the family in a safe way. By allowing children this 30:1 lemonade to red wine drink, the hope is to let them feel that little bit more grown up today to alter what they think of binge drinking in the future.
