One of the biggest problems people have with philosophy is that it’s too abstract and elitist. I believe that philosophy is actually everwhere you look! In order to get more people engaging with this discipline I came up with a campaign called ‘Asterisk’ which would be run by local councils and institutions across the country. During these events asterisks start appearing across the town/city. When someone hold a phone loaded with the Asterisk App up to the asterisk it takes them to a related philosophical idea (e.g. a sign reading “public* library” would lead to a snippet of philosophy about the social contract, etc). This gets added to their library which can be found online or in-app.
Douwe Egberts wanted to engage younger audiences with their wide range of coffees. My solution was an online personality test which matched the user to a type of coffee. The coffee forms Rorschach-style blots which are used as the testing material.
